Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos reacted to news yesterday that sales of the cult comedy The Demon Chimp of Prague have now soared into double figures.
While Amazon are famously coy about announcing sales figures related to their e-book readers, Bezos commented that Amazon had “missed the boat” when it came to sales of the book.
“We missed the boat originally when Chimp was first published,” ran a press statement, “but we’re back on board now. Unit sales are lagging behind other self-publishing sites, most notably Smashwords, but we’re confident we can pull that back by the end of the next financial year.”
